Prevention Matters
Healthy bones begin in childhood and need care throughout life. ZOBS promotes awareness, prevention, early detection and treatment support to help Zimbabweans live stronger, more active lives.
Welcome to ZOBS
The Zimbabwe Osteoporosis and Bone Health Society (ZOBS) exists to build stronger bones early in life, promote healthy bones throughout adulthood, and reduce the risk of fractures in later years.
Through education, awareness, advocacy and collaboration, we aim to improve bone health for individuals, families and communities across Zimbabwe.
Understanding Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis is often called the “silent disease” because it develops gradually without obvious symptoms. In many cases, it is only diagnosed after a person experiences a fracture, often following a minor fall or injury.
These fractures can lead to chronic pain, disability, reduced independence and significant healthcare costs. Prevention, early detection and appropriate management are therefore essential.
Our Mission
Awareness
Promoting bone health awareness across all age groups and communities.
Public Education
Providing reliable, evidence-based information to encourage healthy lifestyle choices that support strong bones.
Professional Education
Educating healthcare professionals on the prevention, diagnosis and management of osteoporosis and metabolic bone diseases.
Early Diagnosis
Supporting early diagnosis and timely treatment to reduce fractures and improve quality of life.
