WELCOME TO ZOBS

The Zimbabwe Osteoporosis & Bone Health Society (ZOBS) is the nation’s leading non-profit dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of osteoporosis. We work with clinics in Harare, Bulawayo, and Mutare to bring bone health education to every community.

The Silent Threat

Osteoporosis is called the “silent disease” because you can’t feel your bones weakening – until a fall causes a life-altering hip or spine fracture. We are fighting to change that through early screening and lifestyle education.

Our Key Pillars

Awareness

Educating rural and urban communities on risk factors.

Nutrition

Promoting calcium-rich local foods such as dried fish, muriwo and sadza with milk.

Vitamin D

Safe sun exposure and supplementation guidance.

Exercise

Free community weight-bearing exercise classes for seniors.

High Risk Alert

If you are over 50, have had a fracture after a minor fall, or are post-menopausal, ask your doctor about a Bone Density (DEXA) Scan.
